Photography 101: The Natural World

A good photographer is a constant observer: always watching and studying a scene, from patterns in city traffic to movements in nature. Capture the natural world with your camera: document a moment outside, big or small.

Tip: If you see strong vertical, horizontal, or diagonal lines, can you play with the orientation to create a more dynamic composition? Can you apply — or break — the Rule of Thirds?

This was taken using my Samsung Galaxy phone. No filters were used. I like the somewhat overcast feeling of the photo.

I took the photo kneeling, underneath the tree. Trying to get a better understanding of “perspective” shots.
