Yesterday, we asked you to interpret home in your own way: you might have posted an image of a house, the countryside, an entire city skyline, or something else entirely. Today, let’s focus on a street. It can be a quiet road in a small town, an alley near your apartment or a busy street where pedestrians weave between cars and motorbikes. While you’re free to take a picture from any angle, try to capture an establishing shot: a wide-angle photo that sets up a scene.
It was pretty late when I went to take this photo, just after 8 PM. I strolled down the street and found a lone resident waiting on the bus. Typical for this working class area of southeast DC that relies heavily on mass transportation.
This photo was shot using my Samsung Galaxy (Android) phone. I used “Night” mode, which allows you to take brighter pictures, in low light, without using flash. Not too sure I like how this picture turned out. Looks grainy and gritty to me. Maybe it lends character to the shot? What do you think?
